Keren Dobia APP M.Photog. III
Keren is the photographer and creative director of theatrical environmental portraits. Her passion is finding unique ways of telling her subjects stories and creating an enjoyable and meaningful experience for those she photographs.
She often designs, creates and sources both costumes and sets to support the stories she is wanting to tell. Under her careful direction, and with the help of a small army of dedicated makeup artists, hairstylists, models and assistants, her mystical photographs are awoken. Her passion for the visual arts is what has driven her to create much of her dramatic and emotive imagery.
With a background in painting and drawing she has been able to blur the line between photography and illustration, in her highly styled and curated work. Keren’s passion for her craft and utter enthusiasm when creating the “perfect image inspires and excites those around her.
Keren’s style has been recognized and sought after by numerous advertising agencies, theatre groups and performers. But it is her friendly, patient and vibrant personality that has attracted various clients within the public care sector.
It is Keren’s keen interested is education and self-development that has lead her into various teaching and facilitation roles. Sharing her knowledge and encouraging student growth in their own artistic practice.
Keren has been lecturing for over 10 years at Melbourne Polytechnic and RMIT. She has also been working closely with photography organizations to teac and share her passion within the photographic community.
She has previously exhibited her work in a variety of different indoor and outdoor galleries around the country. She has also been the recipient of various awards and accolades, most recently named the 2019 AIPP Epson Victorian Professional Photographer of the Year.
